I am making a door, and I wondered how to put a different texture on each side of the door? How can I do this?

Easy. Open your edit window, go to the Textures tab, and click on the little radio button that says "Select Texture." Then click on the face you want to texture. A cross-hair target will appear on it. When you select a texture in the texture-picker window, it will be applied to that face only.
Even faster ..... Open the Textures folder in your inventory (or wherever you keep the textures you want to apply), and then drag a texture from there and drop it on the face where you want it.

Select Texture
make sure that is checked in the edit window, you can they go and change each texture individially, by color, texture, repeats etc etc

I am sure this has been covered and links will follow my post =) But I will try a quick walk-thru.
edit said door >
click "More" on the edit window(if not all ready selected) >
select "edit texture" (not inworld, may be Select texture) >
Then left click the "side" of the door that you would like to texture differently>
The selected face will be highlighted slightly and then just pick a texture as You normally would.
You can select more than one face by holding SHIFT while left clicking faces of prims.
There are other ways also, You can just drag the texture(from inventory or from the focused texture window. I don't advise this as you can drop it on an invisible prim by accident.
Hope that helps =)
edit:wow You guys are fast =P
