I just learn how to sort of do this it requires having layers, sometimes transparent layers in your art program.
What program are you using? If you're talking about black and white stripes or white box in black you can do that with selection tools and copying new layers in adobe or in photoshoppro.

FD, I think he's asking, how do I put different textures on different faces of a prim?

If that's indeed what you're asking, OP, then there are a couple of ways.

1. Find the texture in your inventory and drag it to the face you want it applied to.

or

2. In edit menu, choose "Select Texture" then touch the side you want the texture changed on. Click the texture box as normal, pick from the list, and go on.

Push the "select texture" radio button in the edit window, then click the face you want to select, then open the texture picker and choose the texture.

Oops I thought he was talking about block shaped textures like 2 dfiferent colored boxes in one texture. LOL
I was refferring to Jasc PSP or Adobe PS. I know Jasc changed their names but I forgot how to spell it. I didn't want some spelling anal person something to get their prim panties wrapped in a knot over. LOL
I thought the OP wanted to make box like this.

Not that it's really important for the thread, but just so you know, FD, Jasc didn't change their name. They were bought by Corel some years ago. As is usually the case when a small company is bought by a big one, the small one's name no longer exists. So there is no more Jasc. It's all Corel now.

The name of the product has not changed. It's still called Paintshop Pro. It just says Corel on the top of the box instead of Jasc.

There's never been a program called "photoshoppro".

Lol I just merged it so you didn't have to see the wait space between shop and pro:) Oops, my brain for some reason I always want to call that program paintshop pro instead of photoshop pro. I am sorry I am stuck with partially rezzed brain.
Thanks for the information.
Actually there is one this is paintshop pro 11 I have 7 and 9 http://store.corel.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?partNumber=OL_PR11&srcid=&pculicenseid=&promocode=0&countryCode=US&storeId=10302&catalogId=10103&langId=-1&trkid=googlepsp&trkid=15646662&gclid=CI34oOKp9Y0CFRuNYAod_i09LQ
