Mouths on custom skins

I've been making some experimental skins lately, mostly gothy type ones (IM me if you want a free copy of the decent ones I've made so far).

I'm not sure if I'm going bonkers, but I think that with these custom skins, my AV seems a lot more reluctant to show her teeth. Am I mad, or is this something that happens? Can I sort it?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you put the Mouth Template back on the head Template?

I had that problem previously and found out it was more so a color blend because there was in essensce no mouth to show.

Shadow.

The Mouth layer is visible when I save the file, and the only transparency on the head texture is for the eyelashes.

I'm becoming increasingly covinced I've gone a bit mad-- I'm going to login to SL now and pull faces at myself...

And the goodish news is... I'm indeed going mad.

So I'm going to press on making a range of skins :-).

Thanks for your help, Shadow-- I think the problem may well be that I'd left the mouth off a test skin, but included the mouth in the final version.

I usually merge the mouth layer with the main mask layer skin. I don't know why, I think I just like things to be less layer-ific. It also helps when erasing those ugly lines in the back of the head :)

A question: if you have more layers in your texture (namely, the background layer, and the overlay layer, which has no use as far as I can tell) does it cause more lag or more time in loading?

I finished a skin I'm happy to sell, at last, whoohoo. Here it is.

It's available from my shop above Thinkers' in Tawhaki (200,200). :D
