Hey!

I'm making a soccer jersey, but I want to change(remove) some of the neck, because thats how the jersey is in real life..
But when I remove some of the texture and color, the part just becomes white in SL... In PS it looks fine as far as I can see...

I have to pictures which show the problem...

I really hope someone can help me :) ty

Are you saving it as a 32-bit targa? That is what you need to keep the alpha channel and the transparency.

Collar transparency

It looks as though you only edited the coloring of the jersey. In order to make the 'collar' of the jersey lower, you have to edit the alpha channel in order to make that collar portion transparent.

I guess I can't get it to work.. do you think you would take a look at my .psd file? and see what the problem is?

Or someone else? :)

Best Regards

Hi DesrAw!

Taking a close look at your image, I recognize that shirt! :D

The problem is that the Alpha channel doesn't match the revised t-shirt. You can see the white in PS, too. There it is, above the yellow of the neck.

To fix it, you need to copy the new neck and add that both to the black layer (to avoid a white halo) and to the Alpha Channel that you'll find in the Channels palette.

When you open the Alpha channel, you'll see, at the bottom, what looks like a white shirt on a black background. Where the shirt is white, it's opaque. Where it's black, it's transparent.

Fixing it will depend on what you did to change the collar.

If you can tell me whether you painted the white on a new transparent layer, erased some of the yellow, or whatever it was, I can tell you how to fix the Alpha channel.

So let me know!

Now I found the alpha layer :) About time!

Now everything works fine..

Next step is to add new collar styles for other soccer jerseys :)

That's great, DesrAw, but it's not an Alpha Layer. It's an Alpha channel.

The distinction is important, and slurring it confuses a lot of people.

(It also really annoys Chosen Few, who spends hours writing stuff here to help others. These forums wouldn't be what they are without Chosen. So let's not annoy him. :D )

Hope this helps!
