OK, not sure if this goes under "building" or "textures" so I'll put it here since it has more to do with surface textures.
My question for you all knowing creatures of SL is when building a house or structure is it possible to have a prim (say a floorboard) to have one side textured as the floor and the reverse the celing? I do realize that you can go back through and put up a secondary layer above/below the otehr and texture it differently but it kinda eats up my prim limit. Are there any skeaky tricks out there about this?

If I'm reading you right, you're talking about a two story structure with a single prim constituting the second floor and the ceiling of the first floor. If that's the case, then what you're asking is how to apply different textures to different sides of a prim. On the editor, you'll see a radio button called "Select Texture". Turn it on, and you'll be able to select individual surfaces as opposed to entire prims. Simply select the surface(s) you want to affect, and apply a texture as normal. Alternatively, you can also drag a texture directly from inventory onto a surface for quick application.
