I'd like to texture a prim with the same image as the default land UUID. Is there a way to aqcuire this?
Anybody know what the land UUIDs might be? I thought i had seen something similar in these forums regarding rock or water textures, but i can't find them....

I am under the impression all or most of the land textures can be found in your library -> textures folder. I know of no way to get the UUID of the texture under your feet.

You can always just take a snapshot of the ground if you can't find the actual texture. I thought the land textures were in the Library though.

All the basic laand textures are there, though the one i needed was in a folder marked Atoll (?). I had to look for it, but it seems all the land textures are there.
I hadnt really looked through my entire Library folders. That thing just sits up there like an albatross.
Thanks for the input and the help, Jillian, Chosen!

LIbrary is the answer

Check your library folder and try to find the land texture there. They have divided it into subfolders according to continent. Just rez a prim and apply them there to determine if its the same one. When you find it, right click it in your inv and copy asset UUID.

Land texture changes depending on sim and height. It's impossible to make it look exactly like the land you're standing on 100% of the time since there are transition areas at certain altitudes that blend two different textures. A more or less decent solution would be to get the sim name and height, then look it up in a big table. Since SL has so little storage this would probably work best with an external server. So yeah, no easy way around it. I also asked for a feature like this a while ago...

From: Eggy Lippmann Land texture changes depending on sim and height... I'd noticed this in my search for the UUID when it lead me to the region/estate info. So i found the tile which best approximated my area and then looked it up under the Library. Easy Peasy.
