Hey all

I have a question. It’s like this. When I try to create a Targa save file for my picture, I cant select the option channel, and it won’t pop up for me in how many bits I want to save the picture. The picture I made in an 8 bit grey scale. Can I not create a greyscale picture with alpha channel? Since I tested another picture on it by quickly trying in RBG and there it just worked fine in.

Thanks

Meph.

Working in Photoshop?

True, a grayscale with an alphachannel can't be saved as .tga
You need a 4 layer (32 bit) image. Just convert it to rgb when you're ready editing.

Can you tell me, why do you want to use a grayscale image?

It happened actually by accident, (standard setting is at grey scale for me) but because I worked with grey collors for the picture (it just has varied kinds of grey in the grate i was making) I thought it wouldn't make any difference, off course not realizing that you have to have 4 channels instead of 1 or 2 for an alpha channel.

Thanks for explaining :)
