So far, from what I've used Illustrator for, Inkscape handles stuff pretty well.

Just thought I'd post the link in case some new folks (or long timers) didnt know about "Inkscape", a Free and Open Source clone of Adobe Illustrator.

another vector program for windows is draw + i find it more user friendly but it doesnt save vectors as any standard format ... but it does export to bmp and png for 24/32 bit images
