I have a question about Vendors.

Pahoa and I use them vehemitly because of the prim limits considering combined we have over 700 articles to choose from.

So here goes the questions.

#1 How many Items Should a Vendor have in them for convience?

#2 How long does the average person look through a clothes Vendor?

#3 Which is more appealing a wall of boxes with multitude of Items or a well organized store with Vendors that offer 4x as many options?

Just Curious.

1 and 2. For myself, no more than 20 tops. More than that and it gets annoying. Clickclickclickclickclickclick Hmmm I like that one clickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclick That ones nice clickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclick oh forget it

3. I prefer boxes on the wall, it's just better for browsing. You can easily compare colors, pick out combinations for outfits and it's just more fun. :D

One thing about vendors I do like, if you have one in a mall or whatever and I like some of the things, I tend to check out the main store in hopes it has A. more and newer stuff, and B. boxes on the wall.

I agree with Jellin, no more than about two dozen items in a vendor, that's about the limit of my attention span.

My personal preference is a combination of the two. I think using vendors grouped on categorie for older or "lots of the same" type items is great, while having boxes on the wall for new stuff and the really nice unique things. For example, the $500 high detail dress gets a wall box, cutout, whatever, while the 20 pairs of same-cut underpants with varying textures get a vendor, or the t-shirts, or what have you.

In my Primcrafters store I use vendors for everything though, as I sell two versions of a single item. So I have "MiniVends" as I call them, that hand out basic or scripted glasses based on price.

<edit>
Forgot to mention if you want to do sales tracking externally (via email or forthcoming xml-rpc), vendors are the only way to go.

Another thing that makes wallboxes preferable in my opinion is that the name and description of the item is available (usually). Vendors don't supply that information making it difficult to know what you're actually buying (usually).

Ty everyone this is a good start of information for us.

Currently with over 700 items to chose from we have a multitude of vendors.

So far it seems we are on track well except for my male Shirts I have a TON of them so I think I have like a max of 27 t'shirts in one vendor but thats all it is is Tshirts of varying styles colors and types.

Over the next two weeks I will be going through my old Line up and pulling some product off the wall. Its spring time and Time for me to start working on Summer time apparel.

Pahoa and I are currently evaluating our product line up and in a week or two will be having Major Cuts in pricing to get rid of some of the older attire we have in stock.

When the sale starts we will announce it but again I want to thank every one here for thier support. I would still like to hear more from everyone so that my evaluation of my items can be pruned accordingly.

Thank you for your time and support of these questions.

Sincerely, Shadow Weaver.
