No one else seems to be up for the job, so I guess I'll jump in and play "forum cop" for a quick second here. There have been a lot of help-wanted type posts appearing here lately, and frankly it's getting pretty annoying. I realize newbies are not able to be aware of everything, and that's fine, but come on guys, the individual forums do have names and descriptions. You'd do well to read them.

Help-wanted ads belong in the Help Wanted forum. That's what it's there for. This forum here is for learning how to do things, just like it says in the description, not for recruiting people to do things for you.

Mods, I realize this post itself might not be entirely appropriate here, so delete it if you must, but I felt something had to be said.

personally to me this site needs some overhauls, while i agree with chosen, i also tend to think about the ppl like my mom, which in most MMO situations the average user is ... well like mom ... they know how to use a computer with confidence but simple things still slip by their brain

now on the mainpage, its a GLOB of information, starting with resident forums, which looks like its own enty but its the header of all the forums till international ... content creation comes up first, and wow theres a section about textures (click), classifieds doesnt appear untill atleast another page

one better way to get ppl in the right part is to make a index, so one can jump directly to classifieds or content creation, and jam it into the resident forums, this can be taken 1 step further to make the main forum page just a index containing subforums ... yes its harder for "forum at a glance" but joe av will find the classifieds much quicker (vs scrolling tru 3 pages of random info)

the quick-ez-LL way is to simply jam a CLEARLY LABLED sticky at the top, make it read like a car dealer ad and provide and link it to the classifieds, yes you will still have the over excited durh posting but i bet it would reduce the overall amount

about the forum discriptions

Design and Textures
Discuss techniques, ask questions about using Second Life clothing templates and texturing tools

asking a question about how to obtain a texture seems valid under those terms, but i know better :)

I think a big index won't make any difference, since that's what the forum headings are already. But you make a good point about the ordering, so there's the fix: reorder the forums so that classifieds appear before the content creation forums.
