Hi, all! We've posted part of a guide I've been working on over the last year over at the avalon Web site. The direct link is: http://www.nicolaescher.com/tutorials.php It's a work in progress, so please feel free to point out spelling mistakes, typos, or things that don't make sense. Also let me know if you're interested in other topics as we plan to put more of the guide online and that'll give me a sense of what ya'll would like to see. Hope it helps, Nicola edit: link update

So maybe it's my computer, or maybe I'm just tired today and my brain isn't working correctly....but when I try and open the .pdf, the page just comes up blank.

Ack! Thanks for letting me know, I'll take a look at it. What version of Acrobat Reader do you have? edit: It is rather large, so you may not see something right away. Try downloading it to your computer and opening that way. In the meantime I'll see what i can do

No problem Nicola! I think I'm using 5.0, and I 'm not sure if there is a newer version. I'll see if I can update and let you know if it works.

Okay, I'll talk to Fizik -- I think the issue is that the PDF hasn't been optimized for Web viewing (i.e. it loads the whole thing before showing anything).
I'll re-do the PDF and we'll get it uploaded as soon as I can. Maybe we'll put a zip version up as well.
Thanks! Nicola

Well, I didn't have the newest version of Acrobat Reader....but it did work when I downloaded the .pdf and opened that way. Think you could be right about it just not being internet ready (or whatever it was you called it ) I must not have given it enough time to load...although it did say done at the bottom of the page. Oh well....just thought I'd let you know anyway.....just in case it wasn't my dumbass fault!

Okay I updated the PDF for fast web view -- although I'm not convinced that will help. I also compressed the images a bit more so the tutorial is almost half the size, which should help. Fortunately you all are on broadband -- right? Nicola

Just so you know, about 5 minutes ago, Acrobat 6.0 couldn't read it on my PC.

Sorry you're having problems, Siobhan. I am able to open it in both Acrobat 5 & 6 in Windows XP and Mac OS X.
Was there an error message when you tried opening it? Did you download and then open? or open from the web page? Any clues would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Nicola
