Can anyone help me out for a resource that will explain how to add fringing to clothing? I'm assuming it would be some kind of flexi object? But haven't been able to find any tutorials or resources.

If you're considering doing this for sleeves, I would recommend you use two pieces: one for upper arm and one for the forearm for example. It would be fairly simple to make: -stand on a posing stand -rez a box and make it as thin as possible and just long enough to fit the body part you wish it to fit -go to Features in the edit menu and turn on Flexible Path. -You can mess with the flexi options to determine how flexi you would like it to be -when you have it textured with your fringe texture, name it then right click on it and choose More > Attach....etc. You will have to go back to the posing stand once you've attached it and adjust the placement of the object once it's attached. If you need a fringe texture I believe I saw some at Textures R Us. On the right side of the store as you go in is the fabrics section where it will most likely be located Hope that helps.... Best, ~Ari

or you can do individual flex prims as each part of the fringe and attach them to a prim that attaches to your avitar
I have seen this done on a leather jacket leather pants and a pair of chaps

hehe dunno if I would go to the extreme of a few hundred, sometimes less is more.
Think about how fringes look in RL and mimic it
