I've just attempted a skirt with flexi ribbons, and I made the ribbon textures to match the dress, but when I wear them, they are a different color in world. I'm sure there's a setting I'm just not getting...Anybody have any suggestions?
And no, i don't have them on full bright.
Thanks,

Even slight differences in viewing angle can change apparent brightness. I can get a prim skirt to match the dress top perfectly and then turn around to find that it's too bright (or too dull) when viewed from the opposite direction. Just the fact that flexi panels on a shirt stand out from the avatar body makes them catch the light differently. If there's a way to beat this completely, I don't know it.

On the other hand, you may be talking about a different phenomenon. Can you post a photo or two?

If its anything like what I've experienced.

I've made say my glitch pants and skirt panel texture from the same base texture. The textures render differently on the avatar than it does on the prim - it appears brighter.

I had this happen with a white wedding dress in particular - the prim skirt panels appeared a much brighter white than the rest of the garment.

Not sure if there is a better way but to fix this I apply a light gray color to the prim skirt down the brightness. I'll make sure I check it in all light settings and from a few angles to make sure I've matched i up well.

The new viewer also is to blame...

An example would be prim attachments (leg sculpties, skirts etc) that I matched perfectly before the new "windlight" viewer now do not match. It is hard to match things correctly across the board but as the previous poster stated - use a light grey as the color base if your texture is too bright.

I change the white color of the prim in the texture tab to something between 218, 218, 218 and 204, 204, 204 (RGB) and it usually solves the problem.
