When I was new ish to texture creation I had a custom to make some basketball flooring.
Not being a sport fan period and being from the UK my knowledge of this area was limited to say the least, I did some reasearch and 'thought' I had the markings saved in my memory.

I sent my 1st submission to the customer and she politely asked if i was kidding...I was confused...

See if you can spot my error!

( I deleted the original but just made a basic example for reference purposes for this thread)

The circle at center court is missing. I see other proportional issues, but that was the first error I spotted.

hmmm maybe im not making it obvious. The circle isnt there because its not the real texture I wouldnt sell this in the store LOL its out of proportion theres no surround mark and as you say the centre circle isnt there
I just drafted this in 2 mins to show you the parts that mattered

The phallic markings!? :p

The center split is meant to me top to bottom not left to right heehee

It must be the way my mind works!

Ah, if we're headed that direction, the outer circle at each end has more the shape of a diaphram ;)

Yeah, there should not be that line cutting through the solid circle and a few other things.

You run a pretty well known texture store with some nice textures so I`m guessing this customer wanted something realistic, check the links Winter posted.

(But you mentioned you were kind of new to texturing at the time so idk)
