You just need a bald base. You probably have one in your inventory - But I will send one to you.
EDIT: Logged on and sent you a bald base and the landmark to FREE DOVE - where you can probably get some free prim hair to start refining your look.
If anyone has any landmarks to designers that give noobs free prim hair it would be nice to post those slurls here.

All avatars have to wear *something* as their avatar hair. Like the avatar's skin, you can't just "take it off". You have to replace it with something else.
A "Bald" wig is just a hair object that has been set to a zero value on the hair volume slider setting. Most prim hair comes with such a base, as part of the set.
It is easy to make your own "Bald Wig".
In Inventory, go to the Create menu and select "New Body Part > New Hair"
Rename the hair in inventory as "Bald Wig".
Wear that hair.
Go into appearance edit mode, Select "Hair" and "Style", and adjust the "Hair Volume' slider to zero. You'll see the hair dissapear into your head. Save that change.
You now have a bald wig!

Yes, just wear a bald cap and it takes off the system hair that avs come with. Most people wear one all the time under their prim hair.
I have freebie prim hair I can send to whoever wants it, I also have landmarks to places with freebie prim hair.
And if you go to Gurlywood, you get one free prim hair of your choice if you are under 2 weeks old in SL. Look for their voucher on the wall. I think it's near the doorway. (I'm not affiliated with them.)
Laqroki has a dollarbie wall of hair, too. Several styles for women and one for men. (Also pick up the 2 outfits under that.)

From: Ceera Murakami It is easy to make your own "Bald Wig". It's also best. It can take a long time and a lot of experimentation to realise that the hair base also affects the position and shaping of the eyebrows. So it's by far and away the best option to make your own from the start.

also to make the bald wig even better, add a totally clear texture to it (there should be one in the library folder)
that way you won't have any tiny bits sticking out as sometimes does happen.
