Silly glowing plants from a faraway planet?

I foolishly bought quite a few plants from a garden store, spent a long time placing them on my new garden tour, only to find that after the sun went down, they glow. At noon they look great, but when the sun goes down they look like silly cartoon cutout billboards. They also even seem to cast light on other objects!

1) I suppose this quality isn't modifiable by me, if the objects are no-mod? I had a "glimmer" of hope that I could fix them, (pardon the pun) which is why I posted in texturing tips.

2) Why would someone create plants and flowers that look this obviously bad and unnatural at night? Do they live in an all daytime sim?

I didn't spend a lot of money on this, but wasted a lot of time!

Thank you,
-Avion

To your first question, if they're no-mod then unfortunately you won't be able to disable the light attribute. To your second question, I have no idea. :) You should probalby contact the creator and see if they'd be willing to give you some non-illuminated versions.

That's what the checkbox "Full Bright" does. I inadvertently did that and made some Glow-In-The-Dark(TM) chickens.

Look at the textures and see if "Full Bright" is checked, and if you can uncheck it. If not, contact the designe rand let them know that you didn't expect alien night-lights. Ask for a version with "Full Bright" and "Light" turned off.

Yup ... they were designing at high noon. I didn't realize what I had done until I landed on my home at night and there where the post-Chernobyl chickens, glowing brightly.

Hell, I would love Glow-in-the-dark chickens. If you have some, send them my way!

Yes I like the idea of the glowing chickens, too. Maybe they can come peck away all my ugly plants!

yes i'd love some glow in the dark chickens too! do you sell them? lol

we will often play pranks on afk avies who fall asleep on the dance floor by posing them with glow in the dark cows and other farm animals and then sending them pics. i think the glow in the dark chicken would be a great addition to my barnyard of mayhem. ;)

In all probability the designer had set the Fullbright property active so they didn't have to lock the sun position while they worked, and then they forgot to uncheck that. I seriously wonder why they cast local light, however! I agree with the others. Contact the maker and ask for non-glowing versions. Thye may well not even have realized they did it!

I have to admit I would like to buy some alien chickens as well...I do have a real alien plant from Fallingwater Flowers that eats bugs, and a glowy chicken would be the perfect fit.

Dearly Darling,

I'd adore having a chicken like that! I could always say, "poor thing...rebaked textures one too many times....it may just happen to us all...."

You all have a lovely afternoon.

Ever Yours,

Mrs. Showdog Tiger
