In my house the walls are transparent on the inside and brick on the outside. My friend put a picture (texture only) on a wall and it actually ended up in the wall. Dont know how she did it. Then I couldn't click it to take it. I was able to return it though. So, how do I remove a texture that is actually in an object.

It sounds to me like your friend placed a prim with the texture (picture) on it in the wall rather than actually having mod rights on your stuff and being able to change the texture on that specific wall. The reason I say this is because you were able to return it. If s/he placed the texture on the wall itself (using mod rights) the object is still yours and you wouldn't have been able to return it.
Going on the above assumption, the easiest way I can think of moving the prim would be to make sure you don't have "select only my objects" selected in the tools menu, then camming into the wall using the alt-left click and then right click > edit on that prim. Pull the red or green arrows so that it emerges from the wall. Or as an alternative, if your friend is present with you, have them turn on "select only my objects" and right click > edit on your wall (to pull up the edit menu) then draw a box around the area where the prim should be. Then simply pull the red or green arrows. A _____________________

Not that I am aware of. If you have full perms on textures, you can download them by opening them up in game (double click it in inventory for it to open in a new window) then File > save texture as. Objects cannot be downloaded (again, so far as I know).

Abba, another question please. Can I download an object? and what progam do I need to open it? People get really pissy 'round here when anyone gives that info out. What do you want it for? |

Why would someone get pissy?

I think (hope) he was trying to be funny. So far as I know there's no way to downlaod an object from Second Life (if there were, I'd love to do some offline building and be able to upload it as easily as textures, rather than having to record the params and use an autorezzer scripted item).

Why would someone get pissy? Because the software used to download it allows you to download anything in SL. |

There is a thread in Building > Offline Building: Now in beta. I think AJ is the only one "pissy" around here.

Fargex, if your friend put the object into the wall, then I'm guessing that it still belonged to her. That's the reason you couldn't "Take" it. You can't "Take" objects that belong to others unless you have Mod Rights on their stuff.
The wall had nothing to do with it. The reason that AJ says people get "pissy" when discussing ways to download objects to your own hard drive is that that is the common understanding of how CopyBot worked. If you are too young to remember CopyBot, and the CopyBot Panic, be grateful. But AJ is being absolutely accurate, and not pissy at all. Hope this helps! _____________________
