Hi,
I was just wondering if a tattoo is just a shirt layer that is transparent apart from the tattoo using alpha channels or is it more complicated than that?? any help would be great.

There's a tattoo layer for the skin. Go to Skin in the appearance editor.

Yes a tattoo is basically as you described. If you made something like a chest tattoo, you could put it on the tattoo layer, the undershirt layer, the shirt layer or the jacket layer. A lot of people have custom skins though and that typically takes up the tattoo layer.

All of the tats I've purchased are just as Bree describes since I have a custom skin. The best is when I purchase a tat which has all 3 options (undershirt, shirt, or jacket) so that I can choose which one to wear according to my outfit layers. The lower body tats have them as underpants, pants...etc...you get the idea. Options are good  Best, ~Ari |
