Hello all! I'm trying to make some skins, but i'm having some problems... I was wondering if any of you nice sweet people out there maybe could let me see a pds file of a skin you made... :) I'm not going to copy it or anything like that haha I just want to see the 3 files in pds form to get some ideas of how on earth to make these skins look better. The highlights and shading i'm doing great with. Actually, maybe I could just send some one that does skins my files, and you can show/tell me what i'm doing wrong and how to improve! Thank you!

You can always upload a watermarked 256x256 version of your skins here for everyone to look at. Then we can all give our assessments.

Can you be more specific about what problems you are having?

Your key to realism will be correct human anatomy and good lighting. I recommend getting some source material to study the human form. Also, you're going to have to deal with painting right up to the UVW template seams to get uniformity over the entire avatar.

Here are some samples to study how light plays over the avatar surface. This is a projection of the front and back of the female torso along with snapshots of the projection source. This may help you with the shoulders.

Also a skin texture would hurt either. I could tell from your pics that you are using a basic color. Download a free poser pic to see how they make their skin appear so lifelike.

i'm using four layers for skin LMFAO... the color that is.. i make a base first and ad noise, then i make a shadows layer half transparent, and add noise, making the highlights on there, the another layer for shadowing, also adding noise.... and then and over lay at about 16% transparentcy also adding noise.. the uploads were so darn small you cant really tell... but uh... how do i do the poser thing? LOL i'm a little slow i guess... ;)
