I was searching in the forums for the answer and can't find it. So sorry if this is a previously discussed subject.
I'm trying Photoshop CS3 extended and I know that this version have 3d models capabilities. How can I use the sl meshes inside photoshop to preview the clothes, instead use an external tool for the preview. I've imported the models but I don't know how to apply or map the textures on it.
Thanks in advance,
Favio

From: Favio Piek I've imported the models but I don't know how to apply or map the textures on it. Definitely read Robin's thread. I'd suggest you download her PSD files with the models embedded. They've got her templates right on them. So you know, you cannot create or apply new materials to a model inside Photoshop. You can only edit whatever textures that are already there. So if you choose to start from scratch, rather than use Robin's files, you'll need to open the mennequin models in a 3D modeling program like Maya, Max, or Blender, and then apply materials there. Once you've done that, export to OBJ (with materials included), and then import the OBJ's into a Photoshop document. Also, be aware that you can't paint directly on the model (yet). Hopefully, they'll change that in future versions of PS, but for now, you can only paint on the 2D texture files, and then see the changes affect the model upon saving. So it's not 100% ideal, but it's still way better than having to use two separate programs. To edit the textures in PS, double click on the model's layer in the Layers palette. A new window will open, exposing the actual texture layers. Do your editing there, and then every time you hit Save, you'll see the changes update on the model.

Thanks Urah, I don't know how I miss that thread.
Chosen, yes, the Robin's files works great, altough you can't paint on the model the instant preview is a great feature. Also I think that can be useful to use a 3d modeling tool to create different positions for the preview in PS instead the default position.
