Hiya all!

I am a newcomer to SL and I have tried to read all the threads to get started with makin my own clothes. I have found a template for a shirt, but I am missing other templates. Is there some place where a lot of templates are gathered? I already have the templates that are available on SL webpage. I would like to try make the following stuff:

hats
pants
shoes
plants

Could anyone point me into the right direction in the jungle of information here? Thank You!

Hi Mea, welcome to SL!

If you look at the top of the Design and Textures forum there will be a sticky that has templates in it for tops (shirts jackets etc) bottoms (pants, underpants, socks), skirts, and the head (make up and the likes)

For hats that is something you would have to build in world out of prims, if you arent sure how to build you can check out the Ivory Tower of Primitives (click on Search then click on the places tab and do a search for it).

With plants you would have to make a flat prim and put a plant texture on it, or you can build a plant out of prims.

Hope this helps and if you have any questions feel free to IM me in world

Mea, if you download the Linden supplied templates from the downloads section of this website you'll find many sample textures for various clothing items that should help get you started.

Here: http://www.slboutique.com/chipmidnight/ you find better templates for the clothes. Fit them to the length you want them by using an alpha channel - you can get a good explanation here: http://www.nicolaescher.com/tutorials.php.

For the rest see Stormy's answer.
