1.Disable the Detect Watermark plug-in (Digimarc).

Or get the Gimp! I'm quite happy with its speed, don't know about the other proggies, so I am biased lol

I heard, if you close your eyes and don't see the photoshop splashscreen, it also makes it load up faster.
