okay i been so confused the last 3 weeks read everything I could on the clothing and tutorial.. I found a dress in some shop online i liked it. So i grabbed the picture and realize the model is kind of slightly leaned and i still want the dress though. my friend said I should just cut the fabric texture from it and do it that way that doesn't seem to really work . One if i fill in the texture is lost do i outline it with black or something it is a pink texture base and so is the dress. Is it impossible to do it this way and what about the drawing aspect I admit it no artist here that is all the husband. I figured do a bit of drawing with that back that is fine.
also making clothes and patterns do people mainly handdraw to get the nice looking clothes or some of them take them from websites they see cool pictures from. Sorry such noob questions but i looked about everywhere Avera Cosmos

Avera, I take it by your post that English is perhaps not your first language? Your post is a little hard to understand, but if I'm reading it properly, it sounds like your question is about how to photosource an existing RL dress for use as an SL dress. There are a million answers to that question, depending on what exactly you're doing, what software you're using, etc. So, to start with, what paint program are you using? Photoshop? Paintshop Pro? GIMP? Something else? Also, do you have permission to use the photo in question? From: Avera Cosmos also making clothes and patterns do people mainly handdraw to get the nice looking clothes or some of them take them from websites they see cool pictures from. Sorry such noob questions but i looked about everywhere Avera Cosmos Some people (like me) prefer to hand paint everything. Other people prefer to photosource. It depends on the individual. Whatever you do, please be respectful of copyright. Just because the nature of the internet makes it easy to copy images doesn't mean you're automatically allowed to use them for your own purposes. Unless you have written permission from the owner of a photograph, it's not yours to use.

help

the photo is from a macy site so not sure about this stuff I am kind of new at this. I am currently using Photoshop css and quiet new at the usage of the program. I have paintshop but that is too complex to transfer over it. I am comforable at it then again that isn't the point.
my dilema is how i get this dress or any suggestions on patterns where to find some good ones other then the ones from robin and chris. I see some people have some nice drawings too do they draw them selfs.
I had so many people say yes i can put the picture in second live but it is kind of hard if i do she is leaning side ways kind of at a slant. I know that about editing the stuff around her and taking her out of the picture. That I can do for sure the basis is when i put the texture pattern down on it covers everything i was told by friend. what would be the best way to this?
You think be better drawing my own stuff or where i go and get the supplies for this any help would be so grateful. Yeah sorry about the ranting on like that i was so confused really didn't know where to start. English is my only language lol

in any program.. the simply side of hand drawing your stuff is open a template (I usually use chip midnights depending on what Im making) make a layer above the template then pick a brush from your program and a color the draw on the new layer over the template. for more detail look into the sticky notes about shading and wrinkles and stuff. Im in no way an expert but the tutorials if you follow them are very helpful and will give you practice and show you ways to come out with your desired effect.

There are groups in SL that do tutorials, that could be one place to start.
If you've ever sewn, texturing works just like patterns.
Explore rotating, skewing, and resizing the start picture so it aligns top to bottom with the template.
Try using the Clone tool in your paint program to transfer from one area of the source picture to an area of the template.
There is a graphic preview tool called Avimator which will allow you to see how what you are doing looks on an avatar. You can rotate the model and see how the seams look, etc.
