Setting Permissions on Furniture???

Hello everyone!

I am still so new to SL and have managed to start building my furniture. But, I got a question in regards to permissions. Let's say I have some pose balls on my furniture and they are FULL perm and then, they get link to my final piece of furniture (ie. a sofa) but the final piece of furniture does not allow for anyone else to copy/modify. Will the customer be able to edit the furniture and copy the pose balls?

I hope I explained this right. Please let me know if this is too confusing and I'll try to rephrase somehow. lol

Thanks in advance to anyone who will reply!

Hi Shaylene, and welcome to Second Life :)

In your scenario, the buyer would not be able to copy the poseball. However, they may be able to copy the contents of your pose ball ... such as the animation and the script ... if these are not explicitly set as no-mod/no-copy. I suggest you always set these to no-mod/no-copy because if you do not, you are giving away free poses and this can hurt the person you bought them from.

Also, I highly recommend that you test the permissions for your items using an alt, or by having a friend work with you. It is easy to mess permissions up and accidentally flood the market with free copy/mod versions of something you worked very hard on.

Thank you, Persephone. :-) I will make sure to double check all this before actually putting my stuff for sale.
