creating greeting cards

hello, could someone please tell me how I can create greetings cards ? I'd like to write my own message and also use nice fonts . I have gimp , but not PhotoShop .

you can find free fonts on the web, just search for fonts, also free clipart is handy too

create the texture in your gimp program, upload to SL, then apply to a prim.

Some useful Xmas fonts here:

Just install the ones you want and use the Text tool in The Gimp. When using the clipart fonts, you can use "Layer - Disgard Text Information" to turn it into a normal bitmap layer. You can then use the normal select and paint tools to colour the graphic.

I'd build the card from two cube prims and use a modified door script to make it openable.

GIMP will work just fine for making greeting cards or most any texture for Sl.
