In the noble quest of attempting to import images that contain alpha transparency information, I've been working in Macromedia Fireworks & Freehand as well as Adobe Photoshop Elements. Heck, I even bought a fairly robust piece of image conversion software.
Basically folks, I'm stuck. While I can certainly convert my .PSD or .PNG to a .TGA I just can't retain the alpha transparancy (white).
Fireworks is the program I'm most familiar with. I find it more intuitive than Photoshop Elements to use, but it lacks much of the file exporting options that P.E. contains.
Anyone out there have any recommendations? I've performed various google searches and searched these boards as well. No dice thus far.

Are you saving the .tga as 32-bit? If not, there's your problem.

That's a good question. I am aware that the final image must be a 32-bit kind, but I can't seem to find an exporting options that relate to that in Photoshop Elements.

I don't use Elements, so I can't help you there...when I save .tga's in Photoshop it gives me the option to select 16, 24, or 32 bit. Sorry

Well I was fortunate enough to learn of GIMP 2 from Ace Cassidy, to whom I owe quite a debt in saved time . This complete free software saves in a host of formats. Very powerful stuff. I don't remember the site off hand, but a simple google search will reveal it for those of you who are interested. Thanks again Ace!

A ton of people have had this same problem...in fact if you refer to /109/14/16873/1.html I am not sure about photshop elements other than the fact that you may have to create an alpha channel and then save the peice as a .tga...
