Has anyone heard of or seen this site?
I've got a basic skin ready to go and was looking for a way to do eyebrows and makeup that looks appealing....and I stumbled on a bunch of products here that can be used in photoshop. But.....I have no idea if any of this can be applied to the skin templates we have for SL. Any thoughts?

Or at least it did at one point--when I first began getting into CGI and 3d modeling in the late 90's, Renderosity was a very popular site for artist to come and share their work, share resources, promote themselves, etc. I haven't been there in a while, but I know it's still going strong.

From: Milla Alexandre I have no idea if any of this can be applied to the skin templates we have for SL. Any thoughts? Nothing on Renderosity is specifically designed for SL avatars. Most of the stuff there is designed for Poser (V4 & M3). All of it comes with usage restrictions (EULA) making it clear that using textures or parts of them for anything other than thier intended use (with Poser) goes against the EULA. You can certainly draw inspiration from the works on Renderosity, but don't cut and paste the textures onto a skin for SL, especially if you intend to sell it. The best way to design skins for SL is to either use the source materials that the Renderosity artists pull from ( www.3d.sk) or to create the stuff from scratch. Eyebrows, makeup, body hair, scars, freckles, eye textures, etc., are all very simple to create with custom brushes, layering effects, and standard filters in Photoshop.

Ah, ok....yes I did see that some of the things featured were Poser specific...so my next question would be, where to get plug-in brush textures for photoshop? I know falmingpear.com has lots of amazing filters.....but I need different brushes more than anything else. I currently have PS Elements 5.0 which does have quite a bit....but not enough that I can efectively do hair. Or maybe I'm just not good enough yet LOL

You'll find thousands. You'll find that certain of David Nagel's brush series in particular are quite useful for skin and hair. He's got an extensive collection. Here's one source: http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/photoshopbrushes/Free_Adobe_Photoshop_Brushes_to_Download.htmSupposedly, any PS brush will work in PSE3 or higher. Since you're using 5, you shouldn't have any problems. Installation instructions are at http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pselements/qt/freegoodies.htm if you need them.
