I have scheduled the Basic Clothing for Non-Professional Artists (professionals can come too :)) for May 23rd at 7:00PM SLT or 9:00 PM CDT.

The last couple of classes have been in the afternoon, to accommodate our European friends. This one is timed to help US residents. If there are enough requests, I will try to schedule an afternoon class.

The course is listed on the events calendar, along with time and location. Be sure and check off mature events. Since, I take off my clothes (hee, hee, that will get the guys) I have set it mature.

As always, the course includes the info listed below. I have also added a pictorial on taking an article of clothing from start to finish using PhotoShop and Daz Studio screen shots.

The course objectives are that by the end of the session new residents will understand:

SL Avatar model and use of UV maps (templates)
Making a template suit for avatar and taking photos of avatar for reference
Where to get UV Maps/templates
Using layers
What is and using the Alpha channel
Using patterns & textures in the designUsing Poser & DAZ Studios to check clothing
Saving to the correct format
Uploading texture file

Please note: This is not a course on how to use your graphics program. Student must already know the basics of PhotoShop, Corel Paint Shop Pro or GIMP.

Some basic clothing templates/patterns will be provided to help the new designer get started.

Jen, I would dearly love to attend this class as would a few other friends of mine. However I am one of those Europeans you mention. 7PM SLT is 3AM for me on a weekday. I get up for work at 7AM. Even if you could re-schedule for a Weekend I would stay up. Otherwise I am sure there are enough Europeans to hold another class at a more sociable time.

This is the first I have heard of your classes or I would have attended others.

Thanks,

Bobby

WoW a lot to cover in one class. I am particularly interested in how to use Daz to check your work.

Just a reminder, the next class will be held on May 23rd, next Tuesday at 7:00 PM SLT.

A landmark and more information can be found in the Events Calendar. Look under Education and make sure you can see mature events.

Jennifer--
Enjoyed your first class. I haven't done anything since, so I'm due for a refresher :)

Definitely a recommended study for us wannabes.

I'd also be very interested in a weekend class, I am in Sweden and the times I can be online through the week are very limited since I also have a day job.

Hiya Jane

Any chance that another class is scheduled?

I found out about this too late. :-(

I hope to hold the class later this month. I plan on holding it in the afternoon US time. This will allow the Euopeans to attend.
