In order to complete an object that is suspended from a ceiling, I need to create a length of straight, heavy chain. I've been searching unsuccessfully for days for an in-game texture or a web graphic I can modify and upload for that purpose. I've hit all the standard search engines, google, yahoo, picsearch.com, and all of the graphics archives I know of, and looked at thousands of images with no luck. Argh!

Does anyone have a texture or image they'd give or sell me, or know where I might find one? The object it'll be used on will be for sale, so it would have to be something I can use accordingly. It needs to be a fairly long piece of heavy chain, preferably old and somewhat rusty, or a shorter piece that will tile appropriately. Thank you!

I had the same problem and finally decided to make the chains I needed out of prims. If you can add 10-20 prims to your item without any issues, then I would recommend doing that. There are free textures from the GNU Store (well, L$1) that are old and rusty.

Added: I just made two links offset at 90 degrees, linked them and duplicated them, then kept duplicating until I hit my desired length. So it took very little time to make.

Try Drift Monde's store in Clyde?
She may be able to make one if she doesn't have one already.

I have chains I can give you. Here's a free hint though.
Build them, take a screenshot, make them alpha. That's how I made mine, and how i make most of my textures.

Very cool suggestion! It never occurred to me either.

Wow. That opens up a lot of possibilities for low prim building too. Build it prim-rich. Snapshot it. Maybe mod it a little in photoshop and apply texture to low prim structure.

Cain, if you IM me in world, I'll send you a simple chain link texture i created a few months back that can be stretched and tiled as needed.
