I need help setting perms for texture uploads and clothes creation

Hi, have recently forayed into clothes/texture creation. My first texture for a clothing item went well, and the upload was seamless. The problem was, that I could not adjust the perms in the properties window for either the textures or clothes I created. Is this a normal thing, or are there steps I might have missed in getting to this point?

to adjust the permission on any uploaded texture, go into your inventory and right click the texture, choose properties and click on which ever permission you want to use

for clothings first of all always make clothing from scratch
in appearance on whichever article of clothing you are gong to make, choose create new
(or in inventory you can right click on any folder and choose create new piece of clothing.. )
then add the texture to the clothing, then adjust sliders however you wish, save the clothing layer (name it whatever you want)

then go to the clothing item in your inventory and set the permissions the same way you did on the texture
