Quick question about custom shapes

I was wondering if it is possible to change the manikin in a 3d modeling program and then upload the shape

You can change the mannequin, but you can't upload any changes back into SL.

If you want a custom shape done send an IM to Chase Antonelli. I do custom work alot I've made famous people or people who look just like themselves. Not everyone looks exactly like how they should most of the way you look is based on what skin you have some skins make edges look sharper then others and stuff.

Not exactly good form to hijack an educational thread to place an advertisement. That's what the classifieds are for, or at the very least, your signature. Practically all of us who freely give advice every day here on these forums have SL businesses, but our motivations when answering questions are to help people learn, not to promote our wares. I'm sure your custom av service is great, but this is not the place to advertise it.

In any case, the question was about modifying avatar body shapes in 3rd party 3D modeling programs and then uploading those modifications to SL, which as the first responder said, cannot be done. That obviously has nothing to do with customizing shapes via sliders inside SL itself.

Can you do backflips and cartwheels? I'd like to hire you.
