I created a corset last week that has pin striping on it but for some reason when it is loaded into sl the striping is gone and the whole corset is a single color? For some reason the other detailing work seems fine, the seam ribbons, the lacing and button holes are all loading perfectly. I assume they load fine as they were all a single primary color to begin with. Is anyone else having this problem or know how to correct it? I did look through the forum but didn't come across any other threads relating to this. If I missed it or it is located elsewhere can you direct me to the right place please.

I have made the mistake a few times of saving a TGA file from Photoshop without checking first to see that I have turned on (or off) the layers that I meant to. The little preview window in SL -- the last one you see just before you commit your L$10 upload fee -- is a godsend. That's where I say my last "Ooops."

Now, if all the buttons and bows are actually showing up on the TGA file in your computer BEFORE upload and are missing after upload, I have no idea what's wrong. If it were me, I'd try cursing.

I have checked the last stage of the upload to verify and it shows it as it should, with the pin striping and all so I hit accept and uploaded it. As soon as it rezzes though the striping is gone and a flat color is in its place. Cursing complied with on several different occasions though.

Here is a link to a snapshot i did to show.

Asking the obvious - have you waited long enough for it to rez fully? Depending on the size of the file I've found some things take a few passes before fully settling down.

That's very odd. Did you EVER upload a version of the texture without the stripes? Occasionally, I have had more than one version of a project in my inventory and have accidentally worn an old version instead of the current one. You might look. (I'm fishing here...)

BTW, I notice that you used the default "image" view in the preview window. Try using "Female Upper Body" instead. You get a low-grade rotatable mannequin view that way, and it's easier to see whether all of the transparent areas you wanted are actually transparent.

Nope, haven't uploaded it without the stripes before, this was the only version of it at all in my inventory. As for letting it load that is how it looks 30 minutes after it was put on in sl. I did switch it to the female upper body image and the pattern is shown on that as well, I just figured the default image would be easier to view as an example.

What was the resolution of the image when you uploaded it to SL? Most people make detailed textures at a higher resolution, like 1024 or 2048 on a side. But you want to resize that to 512 x 512 before uploading it to SL, for clothing textures. It could be that if you allowed SL to resize it for you, the detail of the small stripes may have been lost in that resizing.

Thank you so much! that's what it was. I thought I had resized it already but when I went and opened the file sure enough it was at 1024 still. Thanks everyone for trying to help me solve it and thank you for the solution!
