Same as above. Does anyone know how to export and flatten an object so that one can apply a texture to a template outside of SL to make it look nice? I lack the funds to do trial and error , but have some nice textures I wanna put on the object.

The short answer is, "you can't." You can neither export nor import models.
But all the prims are already UV mapped (which is what I'm guessing you mean when you say "flatten and use a template," even though that's not what's happening at all. ![]() If you want to see what the maps are like, why they behave the way they do, and how to create your textures to take advantage of the strong points and avoid the weak points, you might want to visit my in game texture tutorials, at Benten (17, 105.) _____________________

Ah, ok. I coulda sworn i heard there was a way to. Must been wrong. I was just wondering because I'm working on some custom textures made by compositing RL textures in Photosop and applying them to the Templates that Linden Labs provided, but wasn't sure how accurate it would look doing to to a batch of prims (my furry AV's head and tail). The last thing i want is to have chinsey lines all over the prims where the texture didn't overlap and line up properly. I'll try and get to your tutorial, but it will be a long arduous process. See, i am still trapped on a 56k, which makes anything other than working in a Sandbox a royal pain
