Hey guys! It's been quite a while since I played. I've noticed a lot of profiles with these really awesome avie pics. I'm just wondering if anyone can give me some tips on how to make "designer" profile pics. I always liked taking screenshots but I want to try the next step to enhancing them. I'm not trying to go into business just want to make my own pics look cool.

There are some free studios that you can use in-world - I found a couple by searching for "studio" using the Find (all or palces) tool. The studios include lots of poses and backgrounds and are very easy to use. You could use something like PhotoShop to enhance your pic but I have found that resizing the canvas and cropping is enough.

Force Sunset and Force Sunrise are your best friends if you want to take good pictures. They'll give you light that hits your avatar straight on, instead of shining down from above and creating ugly shadows. I've heard the new local lighting gives off good light, too, but I leave it off on my system.

Also, if you're working against a textured backdrop (as opposed to taking a picture against some actual scenery), if you can, you might want to set the backdrop Full Bright. This will (at close range) eliminate shadows on it, giving you an evenly lit backdrop.
