Transparent Textures

Hi i need help something awful :( I can not for the life of me figure out how to get a
transparent texture in game. I've tried saving it as tga it still just has a white background once its uploaded in game, can anyone help me?. Much appreciated. :)

I don't know how to make one but i do have a transparent texture. I would be happy to send a copy to you if it would help.

It depends upon what application you are using (Photoshop, PS lite, PSP, or Gimp) and if you are saving the file as 32 bit TGA, or if you even have this option in the application you are using. Trasparent images always get saved as 32 bit TGA files when importing them into SL as transparent. No other file formats (like 24 bit TGA) will work for that.

Could you let us know what program and version of that program you are using?

I’m sure someone here who uses the same program that you do will be able help you or point you in the direction of the appropriate tutorial.

NOTE that if you are using PSP 9, then do not be scared that there is no 32-bit save option. Save it as a 24 bit TGA, and the alpha channel will be saved with it.

As for how to create an alpha channel in PSP, there have been other posts on it... contact me in game, and Inari was trying to organize a training session.
