Hi-
Does anyone know how to import textures into to Gimp, or use textures with Gimp besides the patterns already provided?
Thanks.

open the texture as a normal gimp image, then save it as a pattern file to the pattern directory... then after a refresh, it'll be available to use.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm not sure how to save it as a pattern file. Sorry, I'm really new to all this. Do you think you could give me step-by-step instruction? Part of the Gimp help manual online isn't working, sorry to bother you.
Thank again.

er... ok, Load texture as normal Click File Click Save As Give it a name Click Browse for other folders c:\Program Files\GIMP-2.2\share\gimp\2.0\patterns [for your version of course] Click Select File Type (By Extension) Select GIMP pattern Click Save

Thanks for all your help, but I think I know what the problem is. I have a Mac and Gimp is a little different for me than for you. There's no option to save as a pattern. Thanks anyway!
