The sock part the template is on the lower body portion to the right of the legs (the top of the foot is the lower image and the bottom is on the top). Best, ~Ari

Namsor Daguerre of Second Skin Labs offers downloadable fingernail and toenail templates on his website. They're made for the Evie skins but they ought to give you a good base to start from
*or maybe I should've let Namsor suggest that*

Hi Sasha:
What I did is use AVPainter to paint on my fingernails where I wanted them to be. From there, I pulled the resultant textures back out into photoshop and using the painted on versions as guides, repainted them. If you're slick, you will use 2 layers... one for the base color and a hard light layer for the shadows and highlights. This way, you can just get the shading correctly done for one color, then by simply repainting the underlying layer in whatever new color you choose, you can have as many different colored fingernail polishes as you want. From there, you can add a third layer for french tips and subsequent layers for decals of various sorts.

They neither map correctly to the default LL skin or any other skin in SL (that I know of), so you will likely need to make modifications to the alpha textures to suit your needs. Almost every skin designer is going to have unique textures and alignments for nails on thier skins since the feet are nothing more than flippers and the fingernail alignment on the default LL skin has left ample room for improvement by many a designer. We have all taken advantage of opportunities to improve those areas. If you do create and sell nails on glove and sock layers without modifying those alpha textures, I would appreciate you mentioning their compatibility with my Evie skins
