I held the first in a series of events at Prim Divas yesterday, answering questions on clothing and accessories. The outcome of the event was a request for an even more basic clothing tutorial explaining how to make clothes using the inworld tools ONLY, no photoshop or external uploads, and how to adjust or wear hair that people have bought.
I am planning to make some free to copy textures available to the people attended the second event, which is scheduled for Sunday February 12, at 1pm...and some how to notecards too.
Does anyone have great tips which I can incorporate for the people attending the class? If popular I will make this a regular event.
If you have free to copy textures or gadgets which you would be willing to make available, that would be great too. I already have the posing stand, height detector and finder (for pesky attachments that fall off and get lost), and the invisible prim script for shoes. If you can suggest others, please do!
Thanks! Cali

Basic Clothing

I have been running a class at TeaZers on basic clothing(just using the sl tools, no Psp) for sometime. I have found showing in appearance how to create a new shirt, undershirt, skirt etc giving out some free textures works really well; people are still amazed by what they can do. I do have free to copy textures I would be glad to share with you or anyone. Explaining how to find textures on the net, only a ten linden upload always seems to fascinate people. As far as things that help, I find alot of new people and others do not know how to save their shape, so I run through the appearance mode thing. Also other instructors at TeaZers teach makeup, and body shape classes.

I'd advise everyone to be careful about finding textures on the net. Remember that most stuff on the net is copyrighted; so if you want to sell or share anything, you will need to make your own textures, or get permission from the copyright holder.
(Yeah, this hasn't been hashed out in SL yet; but the day has to come, sooner or later, because people are stealing from places like Disney, and they can't afford to let it slide. If we all start to be careful now, we won't have cause to be sorry later.)
