I know mosters have been discussed already in a couple of threads in this forum, but this one is a little more general- post links/descriptions, ect of monsters and creatures you want to see more of in SL! as for me, I desire to make three critters, all from The Dark Crystal: A Skeksi A Mystic and, of course, Aughra. of course, if someone beat me to it, (HINT), I would not weep What do you want to make/see someone give a shot at? mmmmm....MONSTERY!

Oooh the Dark Crystal.. one of my favorite movies! Neph - I assume you've seen the "World of the Dark Crystal" art book? Its amazing.. all the concept art Brian Froud did - all kinds of sketches and designs. Just awesome.
I've been tempted to make some Dark Crystal critters in SL too. One of my friends said she wants a pet Fizzgig (that little furball in the movie). There's also those giant beetle-warrior guys, and the stilt-legged mounts.. so many cool creature designs.
As for other creatures.. a while back I was making little pet-sized critters like a mini-dragon and imp. Hopefully i'll get back to that project someday.
Hmm how about Cthulhu-type creatures...

Great thread, hope to hear some interesting suggestions and requests. I finally got a new chunk of land and will be trying to organize a meeting for the Monster Maker group and interested persons in my secret laboratory... muhahahahhh...
Hmm, how about a monster fashion show down the line? Fun!

The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth were a couple of my favorite movies as a kid. Brian Froud and his books are the artistic equivalent of all that and a bag of chips.
I'd like to see that big red sneakers-wearing monster from the Warner Brothers cartoons (complete with fur).

I'd be up for a Monster Makers meeting. The "beetle warriors" were Garthim. Using the power of the darkened crystal, SkekTek the Scientist experimented with sea creatures to create armored warriors more powerful than anything else on the world of Thra. When the crystal was restored, the energy binding the garthim was disrupted. Yes, that's off the top of my head. I've often considered making a garthim av, but taking that first step on a texture-intensive project keeps getting pushed back behind other tasks. Oh, and the Warner Bros. big hairy monster is Gossamer. And monsters I'd like to see in SL? How about a Giger alien? They've become as iconic as vampires and werewolves. Maybe a cicada.

that would be so cool thanks nephaline...you have inspired me to try and see if i can create a "jareth" avatar/costume ala labyrinth. btw, you'll be pleased to know that i am going to spend my way into abject poverty at your pixeldolls store. i'll be homeless and penniless, but i'll have one hell of a wardrobe.

From: someone one of my hopes for custom anims is that maybe we'll be able to achieve more...monstery rest positions for our avs. Something like: knees slightly bent, shoulders hunched, hands up as if for typing but with fingers spread for grabbing? I wonder how long until someone makes the standard arms-straight-ahead-one-leg-dragging zombie walk.
