I was at the junkyard reading the book on how to make shirts in photoshop and they give you a template...I just dont understand how you get it into photoshop or even how it works. Could someone please explain?

I don't have Photoshop, but I do use GIMP, which I believe is pretty similar.... you open the template file once you're in your graphics program, through file/open, as if you were opening a photo you wanted to work on. (If the template is the same as the Linden templates, they can be downloaded from the website, or Chip Midnight's excellent versions of them can be found elsewhere in this forum.) Create a new layer-- in GIMP, there's an option for 'layer/create new layer,' I assume that's pretty much how PS does it as well. You can then draw, copy/paste from photo sources, etc. onto the new layer, using the gridlines to position the parts of the shirt. Once you have the shirt image the way you like it (The finished image should look as if you took the shirt apart and laid it all out flat) you can open the 'layers' dialogue (again, in GIMP there's a specific dialogue for this in the main menu) and remove the background layer, with the white background and the grid. (There should be a button to click so that the layer isn't visible.) Save the file with another name, as a tga (targa) file, and you should be ready to upload. Hope this helps!

Just did this for the first time last night. When you bring it into SL its just an image. So now what?? well... 1. Open your av for editing. 2. Go to shirt and create a new one 3. Add your new design to the shirt.(This will be the texture) Your all Set!! Happy designing!
