I'm willing to put together a from the ground up tutorial on how to use the basic PSP/P'shop tools..starting with an explanation of the file types, going thru what are layers and how to use, the select wand, layer styles...this would literally be a ongoing seris of classes, and I'd prolly have a group to keep up with it.
What I'd like to know is ..anyone interested?
IM me in game or let me know here...pass the word..and I gotta say it
Take in the Touchstone Fun Fair and Educational Expo..its fun its free and how can you pass up snow cones, balloon animals and stuffed critters....
Peace and brownies

While I understand and appreciate the need and attraction for this in the PS/PSP community; I would LOVE to see this done for GIMP as well.

From: Tito Gomez I'd need a tutorial on what "grfx proggy" means Hehehe yah for real - threw me for a loop there for a sec Graphics Program! YAY! I'm all for this Jase. I "taught" myself part of the basics of photoshop and then hit a wall. One of the things that I suggest for ANY tutorial is to really "pretend like I dunno a damn thing" and start from there, if that makes any sense. I've found that as a complete rookie trying to follow some of the extant tutorials, that there are some steps that get missed where certain knowlege is taken for granted. I've been frustrated by getting a quarter of the way thru something and then getting hopelessly lost when there's a gap from one step to the next. Love this idea!! There's also a couple of Gimp Diva's out there you might could pick brains on to add to this as well. Simone Stern and bunny Page come to mind....

For the fantastic responses and suggestions.
Please keep dialoging on this with me.
Basically what I'm going to do is go from the ground up. Paint and Photo shop have similar tools, that work in similar ways, and these tools don't change version to version.
I am talking a long term college semester course here, so please look fo rit somewhere mid-June.
It will most likely run the course of the summer, and I will repeat classes.
If you can't make the classes in game, NEVER FEAR I'm working on an online classroom, not a tutorial, an acutal classroom like online colleges have, complete with homework(yeah yeah) and a way to ask me questions. Best part about it, I'll be able to ADD teachers to the class, like those GIMP divas (heh heh).
I'll also help these folks put a class together. I've over a decade worth of designing courses and teaching teens in an organization called Civil Air Patrol (dont ask what squadron cause I ain't sayin)
I also know enough international folk, German, French, Japanese, Chinese that if needed I could prolly beg em pretty please to translate....now if only I could find me a red-neck to English translater Id be all peaches here.
SO..keep talking to me about what y'all need. ANd be patient..please...I'll keep hollerin' back on this thread to let you know where its at.
Peace and brownies.

I am very interested to learn how to make clothing and hair. I would like to find a teacher that is willing to show me how it's done, what tools I'd need, ect.
Is there anyone out there with the time and skill to do this? Or is there anyone who can refer me to a guide/s that will provide this information? I've been looking for some but it's kind of like digging for buried treasure.
