About time we had stickys by brand and release. I have cs4 and cs2 and it would be good to have photoshop tips and tricks, then inside version numbers for specific versions, ie cs4 cs3 or psp 11 or gimp and paint.net.

Its getting harder to find specific tips for sl ust based on search.

That's one reason I've never contributed to the "tips & tricks" threads. I only have so much time, and for stickies, I'd rather document principles that are enduring, regardless of software version, than version-specific behaviors. I'd rather handle version-specifics on a case by case basis, as people ask.

My philosophy is that all the version-specific button-push instructions for everything are included in the help files of all the various programs. People who are inclined to look up information can already do so right there, so there's no need to duplicate the same stuff in a sticky it here. But rarely do help files teach principles, so there's definitely a need there, which the stickies here fill nicely.

People who need to ask, rather than look stuff up, will always ask, even if every last detail is freely available on every corner of the Web, including stickies on this forum. So stickies do those people no good at all.

I'm sure there are probably some people who would benefit (no one fits into either category, absolutely), but the amount of effort it would take to keep up with every version of every program is a much bigger project than I'd care to take on. Plus, it would increase the amount of stickies by at least an order of magnitude, which would pretty much defeat the purpose of having stickies in the first place. They're only effective when their number is small.

Others may disagree, of course, but that's how I see it.
