Don't think of it in terms of screenshots. Just capture video. Then open the video in an editing pogram like Premiere, Vegas, After Effects, Final Cut, whatever, (heck, even Windows Movie Maker would do) and grab whatever frames you want from there.

One per second? Well, if you say so. http://www.fraps.com/faq.php#screencap
I use an older version of Camtasia which can have the capture FPS adjusted too. There's also an open source program called CamStudio that I have been meaning to try, but haven't. In regards to these being what you need for 'this sorta work' I don't know. I have only used Camtasia for recording training material to illuminate my coworkers, but there is an option in it to produce as an animated GIF. I have not seen an option to export as a series of stills though if you are hankering to roll your own. If you capture a video and then extract still images it's a good idea to use a codec that doesn't use lossy compression, or not compress at all if you can. |

OK - Here's a solution:
Record in FRAPS in movie mode with the FPS set to 5 (=1 frame every 0.2 s) Open the resulting AVI using Irfanview ![]() Just did a test and works like a charm. Rime |

/me smacks the OP for removing the question that gave rise to such interesting answers - "The world may never know" ![]() I'll add a second smack to that, and a bitchslap for good measure. Very bad form, indeed. The question was how to automatically grab a screenshot every .2 seconds. The OP had wanted to create an animated texture, showing his avatar moving around. Presumably, the reason for the low frame rate was because you can't fit very many frames of any decent size on just a single 1024x1024 canvas. _____________________
