Is Corel Painter IX a good choice for working with textures? I can pick up a copy for around $80 and yes it can be registered. Forget about price what are the best tools for working with textures?

Corel painter has an insanely nice feature where if you paint of the one side of the image, the brush keeps going wrapping back to the other side.
Original textures made this way can be easily tiled with no seams!
It also has "thick" and textured paint that can look great on a texture.
