Hi everyone,

Are there any examples of making a good shoulder and neckline for a top shirt? I do it in illustrator, but im not sure if i should follow all the lines on the template, or that i better make my own curves.

Tried both, but it still is a bit squarie....
Is that normal, or can i make it better somehow? Anyone has a photoshop example?

Have you considered buying a template from SLExchange?

Is the neckline section in my Gimp tutorial any help to you?

http://seshat-czeret.blogspot.com/2008/06/how-to-make-sl-clothes-in-gimp-part-2.html

If not, please (PLEASE) ask me questions and help me make the tutorial more helpful.

Ask me even if what you want is a more advanced neckline - I do plan to expand on these tutorials, and if you're willing to be used as explanation practice, that'd be great. :)

(Note: I know my tutorial is Gimp-based and you're in Photoshop, but the same techniques can be used, just with somewhat different tools.)

I'm not sure exactly what to suggest. I consider the neckline of a blouse or a top to be one of its most defining elements, so that's where I always start with a new design. I have never used a template for one, though. I just begin with a shape in mind -- a particular curve or the shape of neckline that will show off a particular necklace -- and with a feel for the contours of my upper body. Photoshop's path tools are my primary tools. I can make smooth, well-controlled lines with them and can match well across seams better than if I were drawing completely freehand. Every neckline is different.

I don't know if a couple of example photos would help, but take a look at these.

Found out that i could buy them at slexchange! (took me lots of time to find it :-)
Its good in the beginning to have some examples, so you know for sure your doing the right things.

Thank you for all the goodies, going to try them out soon!
