Hi, I searched this forum for help with this problem but none of the other posts really helped me, so i'm posting here.. Anyway I was trying to make a pair of pants like these: http://moondancebellydance.com/belly%20dance%20genie%20costume%20dancing.JPGSee how they're transparent and all? Well I tried to do that using Photoshop CS but whenever I go to the SecondLife viewer and look at the pants, they're completely black instead of half-transparent. I saved it as a 32 bit non-compressed targa file, had the transparent background where you could see thru it and all, and even tried playing around with different shades of gray/white/black on the alpha channels. But still every time I looked in the viewer it was not transparent..is anyone else having this problem? any help is appreciated..thanks

Transparencies don't show up in the preview you have to completely upload the texture to see if its right. But if you want the pants to be semi-transparent then you should definatley be using gray in your alpha channel. Hope this helped!

Transparency shows up fine in my preview??? Make sure the alpha channel is selected when you save as a targa, and you are using 32 bit with no RLE. If you are using the default alpha channel settings and have it selected properly the image will be partially red (showing the transparency).
Someone needs to make a photo by photo tutorial for this.

Hmm that's weird, I had all the settings right, just for some reason the previewer (on mine at least) doesnt show the transparency..but anyway it did work and the final outcome was what i wanted it to be, thanks

My preview window is dark blue and worthless, and no Linden will help me... they won't even answer my tech support emails. Crap.

Crap. There are some known issues with texture previews. Did you try forcing the sun and then looking at the preview window? Give that a try.
