Hi its me again lol

I made an item (eye) and used the newbie template (the eyes you have when you open an account for the first time, and I also tried using Blank) and made my own texture and it still says creator: Unknown, and I can't find a way to put my name there, is this normal for eyes? or am I missing something. I have other ones a friend gave me and it does say the name of the creator on them.

Welcome to the nightmare quagmire of SL permissions. Updates seem to do this to items you create, especailly textures. My early skins have been broken and uncredited and are now being given away in every freebie spot in SL. It isn't a bug, it's a feature.

"Creator unknown" more often than not means really "different people made pieces of this" -- SL cannot decide who should get the credit for item, so it settles on the (unknown) tag.

For things like body parts, if you create the item by modifying and saving the template from library, the 'ghost' of original creator still lurks there because technically you didn't quite create the item, but just modified existing one. To get a body part or a piece of clothing with only you counted as creator/contributor, _create_ new item using the menu of inventory window. Then tweak it the way you like and finally save it. As long as it only uses your assets like textures and such, it should have you as the item creator.

Ack this isnt good, why does it work fine for a shirt tho? and not for the eyes? I mean I made a shirt (out of scratch, i.e. blank/naked (lol) and it worked fine, but it just doesnt seem to work for eyes eventho I started from scratch (used the blank eye since it didnt seem to work with the newbie eye, the grey one), but it still didnt work and it still says creator unknown, owner me, and the texture is totally my creation I didnt use any other.

Maybe I have to make the actual eyeballs too and put them in/on my av? lol

And I'm sorry about your skins, I know how much work it must be :(

sigh

Thanks a lot Joannah, it worked! whew lol

Now I am wondering how to package an item to put it up for sale at the boutique, I made the box, I know I have to put the items in the Contents, but do I have to set the price only on the item or on the box too, I'm confused (as usual lol), I tried to find out and obviously didnt lol.

If it's a box using the 'set for sale' bits of the edit panel, you set the box for sale, not the contents. You can choose to only see the contents, or sell contents + box (sell copy).

In other situations people use vendor systems instead... the rules for them are different, but different for each, so RTFM that comes with the vendor you use.
