I have just created my first dress with a flexi skirt. It looks good but when avi moves skirt seems to "shift" around. For example, if she is dancing the skirt may shift to the back. When she moves skirt doesn't look attached but moves around. I attach to spine or stomach. How can I "lock" it into the proper postion? Thanks.

Attach it to the pelvis slot. The spine and stomach are higher up and if you attach it there, the skirt will act like it it attached with a wire to that spot. To get a skirt to move with the hips, as it should, use the pelvis.

Thanks Suzy! That worked. The dress now moves properly.

Flexi skirt attachment points - polling opinions
05-15-2007 09:32
Not to highjack this thread, but I had a question about the merits of using multiple skirt sections attached to multiple attachment points. I've seen some designers who do this...split the skirt into 2 or 3 sections and attach the right side to a hip, the left to the other hip, and the middle to the pelvis or somewhere else. Do people find this makes the flow of the skirt more natural? Does it help prevent the "back flowing" problem where the skirt tends to swing behind the avi when she walks, exposing the front of the legs?

Just looking for thoughts or tips on techniques you feel are most natural-looking...I thought I'd do some experimentation and see, as well, but I'd love to try out any ideas that get posted here.

Cheers,
