Hi, a quick question if you will...
How do you put a .gif type animation within an object. I am trying to get the effect of a flowing lava waterfall. I've looked all around the support documentation and haven't found an answer as of yet. Thanks in advance, Jules

SL does not support GIF. All texture animation is done via scripting. Here's an example.

CODE
default
{
state_entry()
{
llSetTextureAnim(ANIM_ON | SMOOTH | LOOP, ALL_SIDES,1,1,-1.0, 1,0.5);
}
}

For an explanation of what all the variables do, see the wiki.

Thanks Chosen Few, That's what I was afraid of. It looks like I'll be learning some scripting whether I want to or not!

You can convert a gif to an appropriate texture by going to

http://slboutique.com/anim/

There are of course limitations in frame number and size of picture to be practicable.
