Just wanted to see if I'm doing something wrong, or is it something to do with SL...

I made a texture with an alpha channel. Same way as usual- add an alpha channel in "Layers", copy & paste into the layer. Save as 32 bit Targa. Same as I've done countless times.

Upon uploading to SL, my alpha channel is not there.

ANyone else getting this or is it just me?

Did you forget to turn the Alpha Channels check box on in the saving options panel?

I just uploaded one without problems.

I had the same problem and the reason was if you are using the older version of Photoshop 7 before the upgrade, it had an automatic alpha channel. Now you will need to make your texture, and select what you want to show with the magic wand, go to Select/save selection/name alpha channel..check your channel tab for your alpha channel, and make sure only one is showing Tod. Now save as tga, 32 bits. and upload it. good luck!!!

In some versions of photoshop there are two options for saving TGA files, one will create an alpha based on the transparency visible in your file as it would be merged, the other option uses your alpha channel that you assign. The difference is when you save one will allow you to tick the alpha option and for the other it will be disabled, you want the tickable one.
Course you don't mention what program you are using, but alpha channels go under the channels tab/window.

Tod, it's a little hard to diagnose what your problem might be since, as others have mentioned, you didn't specify what software you're using. More than that though, you seem to be using the words "layers" and "channels" interchangeably. This makes it very tuff to understand what your workflow actually is.

If you'd care to explain what you're doing in some more detail, I'm sure we can pinpoint the problem and solve it pretty easily.
